HM Revenue & Customs funding now available for the Sector

Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has six million pounds to distribute to Third Sector Organisations helping to increase takeup in tax credits and other HMRC products.

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), as well as administering tax and customs systems, aims to develop  funding relationships with Third Sector Organisations.

HMRC recognises the vital role that TSOs play in helping to achieve its aims, and understands that customers that HMRC has found hard to reach may prefer not to come to HMRC direct.

HMRC has two million pounds per year for the next three years to distribute to projects delivering activities in line with HMRC's key aims, outcomes and priorities:-

  • Deliver customer support for and key messages to hard to reach groups resulting in an increased take up of Tax Credits and/ or other HMRC products
  • Deliver customer support for and key messages about HMRC products to key hard to reach groups resulting in an improved customer experience and an increased number of current Third Sector customers able to get the right entitlements and pay the right amount of tax.
  • Building the capacity of the wider third sector to deliver more long term and ambitious work programmes including joint and collaborative bids and programmes to help unlock the hardest to reach groups and communities.

Formal first-stage applications must be received by 24th December 2007.  Successful applicants will then be invited to submit a formal second-stage application.
